Prerequisites

Learn how to translate quality expectations into practical project requirements and objectives. Covers quality policies, requirements, standards, metrics and the development and implementation of a Quality Management Plan.

Focus on preventing defects by establishing effective processes, audits and controls that provide confidence that quality requirements will be achieved. Includes quality audits, supplier quality management, quality metrics and quality assurance tools and techniques.

Learn how to verify that project deliverables meet defined specifications and quality requirements through inspections, testing, measurements and corrective action. The focus is on detecting and correcting defects before they affect the final deliverable.

Understand the financial impact of quality decisions, including prevention, appraisal, defects, rework, waste and failures. Explore how investing in prevention can reduce the overall cost of poor quality and improve project performance.

Apply continuous improvement approaches to improve construction processes and project outcomes. Covers performance monitoring, quality metrics, root-cause thinking, Lean Construction, Six Sigma, TQM, SPC, FMEA and Kaizen.

Explore the relationship between quality, compliance and safe project delivery, with a focus on integrating quality and safety requirements into project processes and preventing defects, non-compliance and unsafe outcomes.

Develop a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility. Focus on leadership, communication, stakeholder involvement, employee engagement, accountability and continuous improvement to create consistent and reliable project outcomes.
